The Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself to us and is the authoritative rule of faith and conduct. The Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is authoritative in such a way that to believe and obey it or to disbelieve and disobey it, is to believe and obey or disbelieve and disobey God (2 Tim 3:16).

There is One True God Existent as The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
God has always existed as three Persons revealed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God. Yet, there is one God. While difficult to understand, God is a being that is a trinity in nature (Matthew 3:16-17, 2 Corinthians 13:14).

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is God in human flesh or human nature . He was born of a virgin birth (Matt 1:23), lived sinlessly (Heb 7:26), was crucified as a substitute to pay the penalty of sin (1 Cor 15:3), He was resurrected (Matt 28:6) and is now in Heaven awaiting to return to Earth again (1 John 2:28).

God created humans as male and female (Gen 1:26-27), in His image. As the pattern for the entire human race, the first humans sinned against God causing all of us to be alienated from God. (Rom 3:22-23).

Jesus Christ, coming as a human and dying as the penalty for humanity’s sin, has made it possible for people to repent and trust in Him, to be thought of by God as in a right relationship with Him (John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15, Ephesians 2:8). This is the only way to be right with God and to know Him. Often we say that this is “Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.”
This act of God through Jesus Christ is so wonderful and powerful that it is possible to be reconciled with God (Romans 5:10). It also means that we can be considered by God as righteous (Rom 3:28, 5:1, Galatians 2:16). A person who trusts in Jesus Christ in this way is viewed by God as a new person (Titus 3:5). It also changes the direction of one’s life away from continuing in sin toward living more as God desires we live (Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Thessalonians 5:23).

A follower of Jesus Christ experiences the Holy Spirit indwelling them (1 Cor 6:19-20 ). The Holy Spirit gives new life to believers (John 3:6-7), assures one of salvation (Romans 8:16), guides and directs a believer in life (Romans 8:14), produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and enables one to overcome in life (1 John 4:4).
The Holy Spirit is also available to infill a follower of Christ (Ephesians 5:18). The infilling (or baptism in the Holy Spirit) is subsequent to salvation and is a life-style marked by additional empowerment for ministry (Acts 1:8), a deepened reverence for God (Acts 2:43), an intensifying of consecration and dedication to God and His work (Acts 2:42), as well as an increased effectiveness and diversity of spiritual gifts (Acts 4:31, 1 Corinthians 12).

Covenant Church embraces and encourages the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit’s manifesting the presence of God in our corporate gatherings and private lives (1 Corinthians 12, 14). God sovereignly works through His people today in ways that include divine healing, miraculous powers, and other biblical ways that make Him known (James 5:14-16, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

All true believers in every place and in every time are the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25, Titus 2:11-14). Covenant Church is a local expression of God’s people. As such we preach/teach God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:1-2), observe the ordinances of water baptism and communion (Matthew 28:19-21, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32), and encourage one another toward living in God-exalting, Christ-centered, and Spirit-filled ways (Hebrews 10:24-25).

While no one knows when, Jesus Christ will visibly and physically return to Earth (John 14:3, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). This is part of God’s plan of history to establish His Kingdom on Earth. Until then Jesus’ followers live with this as a great hope (Titus 2:13).

After Jesus Christ returns to Earth every person that trusted in Him for salvation will be rewarded with endless joy in His presence in a place called Heaven (Matthew 25:14-30). Any and all who have not trusted in Christ for salvation will be forever punished in Hell away from the presence of God (Matthew 25:41-46, Revelation 20:11-15).
